Introduction to Digital Video Production and Human Rights
Communication Arts 253 (can also can be credited as Fine Art 253) explores the history and theories of documentary filmmaking. The course explores a variety of films made across the world from a range of differing documentary styles. Students will learn a variety of techniques for working in a foreign setting and will gain a better understanding of the impact such media can have on both local and international communities.
To examine one’s role in the local community (Bologna or elsewhere), and as a citizen of the world. This requires analyzing complex global migration issues while developing film making skills and while working with local residents.
To demonstrate the ability to carry out research, and develop and produce a 5 to 10 minute
documentary working as a team.
